It's From Goodburger but is it a Good Burger?

Ben and Mollie investigate

Cheeseburger and Fries

Sometimes I just don't feel like spending $35-120 on a burger at Daniel Boulud's DB Bistro. Taking the subway to Burger Joint or Shake Shack often isn't much of an option either. That's why when I'm craving a burger, I tend to go to a generic deli and almost always end up disappointed. The burgers are usually too juicy or too dry and sometimes even gray (WTF?).

When Mollie and I recently saw someone standing on the corner of 45th and 6th Ave. with a sign pointing to the brand new Goodburger down the street, you can imagine how I might have felt. We were on our way to find a baked potato (which we never found) so we had to pass, but today was the big day.

I got a medium rare cheeseburger with "the works" and a side of fries. The works = lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and mayo. After about 10 minutes of waiting for someone to call our numbers, we got our food and rushed back to the office to eat.

The burger is pretty good, definitely better than McDonald's or something you'd find at a deli. However, it's not amazing and at $6.75 for just the burger I don't think it'll become a part of my lunch routine.

Here's the post meal IM conversation. It should provide more insight into the Goodburger dining experience.

Ben: mollie, please sum up your goodburger experience in a sentence or two.

Mollie: i was hoping for hand-cut fries. the meat itself was cooked as specified (medium-rare), but i had to remove the condiments and salt the patty. after that it was quite good, though overpriced. i'd go there for a burgermergency but i think i'll stick with dumont burger for all my meat needs.
